The Weekend

For the last several months, I thought that I would be doing something different today. I thought that I would be announcing that you could pick up your copies of the first wave of GKG products to be produced using the Mongoose Traveller 2e rules.

However, due to a last minute legal snag, I cannot do that. I'm not in a position to discuss that problem publicly at this point as we are working with Mongoose to attempt to resolve the matter.

While I cannot yet go into details about this, I can tell you that I am rather angry that I am writing these paragraphs and not telling you of the release of our 2e products. Hopefully, this problem will be resolved quickly.

In the meantime, the first wave of our OGL products are now out there. If you're the sort of person who wants to keep playing using the Mongoose Traveller 1e rules (which are OGL), then I highly recommend that you look into the first wave of products. Not only will you see the older members of our catalog getting updated but you will also new products using those rules as their basis.

If you're waiting on our products using the Mongoose Traveller 2e rules, I'm afraid you're going to have to wait a bit longer than we had previously believed.

Subsector Sourcebook 1: Cascadia 2nd Edition (OGL version) is now available!

The second edition of Subsector Sourcebook 1: Cascadia is now available on Drive-thru RPG!

If you have already purchased (or were gifted) the PDF of this book, check your updates on Drive-thru, RPGNow or any of the family of OBS websites.  You should have a complimentary copy of this book added to your update section.  Just like Clement Sector, Cascadia will remain a free update for those who have purchased SS1: Cascadia until it is pulled down on May 22.  Of course, if you go buy SS1: Cascadia 1e, you will also get a copy of Cascadia (OGL) along with your purchase.

Check it out at this link:  http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/181069/Subsector-Sourcebook-1-Cascadia-2nd-Edition-OGL-Version

April 15

In the Clement Sector setting, April 15 is a big day.  In our future history, April 15, 2331 is the date of the collapse of The Conduit (the wormhole that connected Earth Sector to Clement Sector).  After that event, Clement Sector was separated from Earth and the worlds of Clement Sector were on their own.

As most of you reading this will be aware, Mongoose has created a second edition of their rules for Traveller.  Like the collapse of the Conduit, this has forced a separation for the products we created under the first edition license that we had through Mongoose.  Those products will be forced to no longer be part of the Traveller line and, on May 22, Gypsy Knights Games will remove those products from the market.

However, most of those former first edition products will be part of a new line of products that will take advantage of the fact that Mongoose's first edition is Open Game License.  Not only will most of our existing product line become OGL but we will also continue to support that line with new products.

The first product for that line will be Clement Sector 2nd Edition (OGL).  Clement Sector 2e (OGL) will be available for sale as a PDF on April 15 which is, for us, a very fitting day. A print version will follow shortly.

For those who have purchased (or were gifted) Clement Sector 1e through Drive-thru RPG, RPGNow, or any of the family of OBS websites, you should check your updates.  You should have a free copy of Clement Sector 2nd Edition (OGL) for you there.  Clement Sector 2nd Edition (OGL) will remain a free update for those who have purchased Clement Sector 1e until the product is pulled down on May 22.  Of course, if you purchase Clement Sector 1e from DTRPG, you will also get a copy of Clement Sector 2nd Edition (OGL) along with your purchase.

Clement Sector 2nd Edition is not simply a rules update.  We have added a detailed future history, a change in the rules on how the Zimm Drive works, and much more.  We have also folded our Player's Guide, Career Track 1: Medic, and Career Companion into the 2nd edition of Clement Sector.

Does this mean that we are leaving Traveller?  It does not.  We have already prepared Clement Sector 2nd Edition (MgT 2e).  Once we have permission from Mongoose to put this on the market, we will do so.  It will be followed by a line of new products which will use Mongoose's second edition rules.  Look for this to arrive quite soon.

So, as you can see, tomorrow will be a big day for Gypsy Knights Games.  Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years and we look forward to many more years of gaming with you.

Oops

I'm sorry to say that last night I discovered a rather large error in the Ships of Clement Sector 10-12 print compilation. It seems that I sent the incorrect PDF in for printing and that means that the print version of the book will have no table of contents.

Ordinarily, I would just shut down the sale of the book and begin the printing process again to get it correct. However, the Mongoose changeover and the end of our selling 1e books will be here before I am able to get that process completed.

In short, during the limited run of the book, it will have a glaring error in it. This is completely my error. My apologies.

Ships of Clement Sector 10-12 Print Compilation

The print compilation for Ships of Clement Sector 10-12 is now available!

The workhorses get it done!

Ships of Clement Sector 10-12 compiles in print the tenth, eleventh and twelfth volumes of our popular PDF series. Included within this book are the Lee-class merchant vessel, the Fedpost mail courier, and the Broken Hill-class Prospector. We have also included the Wraith-class Intruder and the Venture-class Troop Transport, variants of the courier and the prospector respectively.

Each ship is beautifully detailed with multiple views, detailed deckplans and full statistics. Also included are several NPCs and adventure hooks to get these vessels quickly and easily into your campaign.

While each of these ships has been specifically designed to fit into the Clement Sector setting, they could easily be used in other Traveller settings or within other science fiction RPGs if needed.

Get on board! Adventure awaits!

"Traveller" and the Traveller logo are Trademarks owned by Far Future Enterprises, Inc. and are used with permission. The Traveller Main Rulebook is available from Mongoose Publishing.
